i officially love summer. everyone is so much more positive during the summer. plus, things happen. we're only flippin' moving house! this makes me extremely excited. i felt i needed a massive change, and i'm finally getting it. our new house is just perfect. i'm going on holiday in a WEEK. i have two festivals lined up, plus a few gigs. life is just so good right now. i have amazing friends, really. i'm going to stop now.
gigs, gigs, gigs;
so i have, sonisphere festival, newquay boardmasters, gallows, bring me the horizon, you me at six (with the blackout!), and paramore. there's so many more i'd like to buy for. if someone bought me a year's supply of gig tickets, then i'd be the happiest girl in the world. seriously.
a review of a special band that has a hold of my heart currently to follow.
peace and love.

practice makes perfect, perfect sense to me.
i haven't written on this for so long. for that i apologize. this year has probably been the most challenging year ever. i've been deeply hurt by a guy, but i've realised even more how amazing my friends are. i also feel that i'm really progressing well in my career. i'm now a level 3 student, and i feel so much more confident in the things that i'm doing. through a few weeks of listening to angry, bitter songs, and constantly feeling down in the dumps, i'm realising that i can do better than him, and that i'm wasting precious time not smiling. so i intend to do more of that.
a band that i used to love, who just completely vanished from my life soundtrack is cute is what we aim for. their songs are so upbeat, yet relate to every day situations. upbeat music is exactly the kind of music i need right now. i find that their older music like 'the curse of curves' and 'risque' is simple, but highly effective. whereas their more recent music like 'doctor' and 'practice makes perfect' has more substance and it is a bit more 'edgy'. however, all their songs are heartfelt, yet not in a depressing way. i think my favourite songs are when they don't take themselves very seriously, and they can get away with lyrics such as 'i'll be your doctor, i'll be your cure, i'll be your medicine and more' or 'navigate me through your body'. i recommend them :)
i've learnt that writing blogs is a great activity to pass the time whilst on call.

Trippin' out, spinning around.
i don't know about you, but i bloody love avril lavigne's new song. i've always been a fan of hers, so i'm very much looking forward to her new album after a while out of the limelight. this is completely different from anything she's really done before. she's kinda gone from grungy to emotional to girly princess pop. i'm glad she's yet again, trying something new. it's also exciting that this song is for the new 'alice in wonderland' film, which i'm very much looking forward to seeing.
"i found myself in wonderland, get back on my feet again, is this real? is this pretend?" this is perhaps the most applicable verse to the film, whereas i think the rest of song is about a girl lost in a world that she doesn't quite understand. but despite this, she'll get through it. i think the high vocals show avril making a stand, i get an inkling that's it to do with her divorce, maybe.
but yes, i love it.
this week has been a bit of a mixed bag. it's been hectic with work and on-calls, but i had one of those nights that you just don't forget the other night. your boyfriend driving you to wembury at 10 0'clock at night to look at the stars and talk about owning an island is something that doesn't usually happen to me. it's rather lovely being me right now :)

Testin' testin'
so i thought i'd be a little creative, yet modern, and start my very own blog. i was probably mainly inspired by my best friend (who is a great artist, and has her own blog ;)) but it's nice to have your very own little bit of cyper space. i'll be mainly using it to review one of my favourite passions; music, and also write other thoughts or feelings. enjoy.
